Uterine Arterial Embolisation

Uterine Arterial Embolisation is a relatively new technique for the treatment of fibroids in the United Kingdom. It was first used in France and has been refined in the United States.

It is performed by Interventional Radiologists and a recent report issued by the Royal College of Radiologists has suggested that it should be seriously considered as a primary treatment for fibroids. However, it is not suitable for all women and it will be dependent upon the placement of the fibroids and the symptoms.
